After recording the previous version of the Genius Mask chapter, I felt bored with what I’d written. The focus on Jonas’s entrepreneurial journey felt repetitive—formulaic.
What I was most interested in was Jonas’ relationship with Ava, the artist he fell in love with while at MIT and later married. So I rewrote the fable.
My sense is that the juxtaposition of Ava’s physical and energetic sensing of the world with Jonas’ buffering of reality through thought provides a clearer illustration of the suffering of the Genius ego structure.
What do you think?
Next time we move onto the Masks of Inferiority.
